An enthusiastic group of Americorps volunteers helped SEA at the Southgate Coastal Reserve for a day of service to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Sixteen volunteers braved mud and intermittent rain to beautify and improve the Southgate Coastal Reserve.
More than 30 native trees were planted along the Upland Trail to improve habitat for wildlife and to provide shade for trail-goers. They also helped stain our new bird blind to protect it from the elements, while keeping it camouflaged from curious birds.
This is the second year that this group has helped us for the MLK Day of Service and we are so grateful to them for their time and positive energy!
