History of the Friends of Forrest Scholarship

The Friends of Forrest Scholarship Fund was established in 2023. Forrest Williams Thomas moved with his family to the Virgin Islands at the age of 10 and his love of the ocean became unquenchable. Forrest used every opportunity to teach children to swim and appreciate the ocean rather than fear it. Forrest was always willing to help someone in need and became one of St. Croix's first EMS technicians. With his passion and sense of adventure Forrest became a Local Legend. The Fund was instituted by Family and Friends to provide opportunities to St. Croix youth who share Forrest's love for the ocean, reefs, marine life and their preservation.
